Pedro Magalhães, “Regime support” (September 29th 2016)

Presentation by Pedro Magalhães, Sept 29th, 2016. Here’s the abstract:

“Since the 1970s, empirical research based on cross-national surveys has expanded massively, as several comparative survey programs were launched. One of the topics most explored by such research has been regime support, i.e, the extent to which citizens orient themselves positively or negatively vis-à-vis the basic rules of the political game that prevail in their country or, instead, on their alternatives. This chapter describes the progress made by the literature in this field, focusing on the main findings achieved as well as on the important challenges this line of research continues to face.”
